MP3 Players with Bluetooth Reviews

#1 Sony NW A25 Review

Hi-Res Bluetooth Audio Player - Sony Walkman NW-A25Sony Bluetooth MP3 players are well-known devices, they’re solid, stylish, have a lot of features and they provide the user with the great quality and performance.

With the NW A25 it’s no different; Sony kept the same reputation, by adding more functional features, such as playing Hi-Res media files, noise cancelation, Bluetooth… and the new technology (SensMe)… etc.

Design and Build Quality

The first thing I noticed about Sony NW A25, is the tall stylish aluminum body, and how solid the build quality it seems.

It is available in 5 different colors (Black, Silver, Cinnabar Red, Lime Yellow and Viridian Blue)

The device likewise has a 2.2-inch TFT-LED screen that serves visual hints for the gadget, in addition to the FM radio capability, Digital Noise Cancelation for peaceful listening experience.

What makes Sony NW A25 differs from the other Bluetooth MP3 players in this list: it’s the only certified Hi-Res music player with Hi-Res logo printed on the box.

Just so you know, FiiO one of the leading companies in providing Hi-Res music players, just recently (in 3rd quarter of 2016) got the approval to put Hi-Res logo on their line of Hi-Res music players.

The Sony Bluetooth MP3 player NW A25 has 16GB of internal storage with the option to expand the memory up to 128GB via the Micro SD card.

LDAC/ High Quality Wireless Listening

LDAC is a new audio technology from Sony that allows you to enjoy high quality wireless audio via Bluetooth. With 3x the data transmitted, LDAC provides an enhanced wireless listening experience for all your music. (Source)

If you recently have bought one of Sony’s Hi-Res Wireless/Bluetooth headphones, such as MDR-1ABT, then, it would be a perfect match.

Functions and Performance

When you turn ON NW A25 Bluetooth MP3 player, you will notice the information area at the top of the screen (play mode, time, battery… etc).

The home menu of NW A25 consists of 12 icons:

  • SensMe: This function automatically groups songs by theme. You can play songs according to your mood, current activity, the time of day, etc. by selecting a channel.
  • FM Radio: You can preset up to 30 stations, and you should know that you cannot use this function while you are on Bluetooth mode, and/or without headphones, because the cord functions as antenna.
  • Photos: View photos transferred to your Walkman.
  • Music: Listen to songs transferred to your Walkman.
  • Noise Canceling: Reduce unwanted ambient noise using active noise control technology.
  • Podcasts: Play podcast episodes transferred to your Walkman.
  • Settings: Set up your Walkman and its functions.
  • SD Card Settings: Set up functions regarding the micro SD card.
  • Bookmark: Classify songs transferred to your Walkman according to personal taste
  • Videos: Watch videos transferred to your Walkman.
  • Bluetooth: Connect with a Bluetooth device to listen to music or send/receive content.
  • Playback Screen: Display the music playback screen

The NW A25 has a very basic non-complicated User Interface; it’s simple, straight-forward, easy to get used to and scrolling through tracks is fast, but, if you have a large music collection it might take a few extra seconds to analyze your collection.

To use the Equalizer feature, you need to set the “ClearAudio+” function to off, only then you can enjoy the 5 band equalizer settings. Plus, you can customize the “Bass” or frequency range as you like.

Also, you can increase the “Clear Bass” setting value to allow the player to reproduce dynamic deep bass without distortion, even at high volume.

As mentioned before, the Sony Bluetooth MP3 player has a built-in FM radio, which has very good reception and sound quality, the only drawback about this FM tuner; is that it doesn’t include the feature to record the FM tracks.

How to format Micro SD card for Sony Bluetooth MP3 player?

Almost every MP3/MP4 music player needs to be formatted in particular order to avoid interruption of any sort.

With Sony Bluetooth MP3 players, it is advised to go to the “Home Menu” of the media player and select the “Micro SD card” option, then select “format SD Card”, a screen will pop up asking you to confirm the order, select “Yes” And that’s it, everything will be deleted.

Bluetooth Connectivity/ NFC

Sony NW A25 has one of the best sound quality experiences when paired with LDAC headphones, and while using NFC, it is found to work extremely well.

Battery

The Sony NW-A25 has a claimed battery life of approximately 30 hours when used with High-Resolution audio formats and approximately 50 hours when listening to compressed audio formats.

While connected to a Bluetooth device, the playtime varies also, depending on audio format, when playing MP3s the approximate time is 23 hours, and when playing FLACs, the approximate is 16 hours.

In general, Sony Bluetooth MP3 players are the most reputable MP3 players.

The NW A25 is the most expensive MP3 player in this list, but, the experience, performance, battery and the reliability it brings to the table, especially the ability to play lossless files in High Resolution mode, it’s something worth investing in.

#2 iPod Nano 7th Generation Review

iPod Nano 7th Generation - Best MP3 Players With BluetoothApple released iPod Nano 7th generation in 2012, and made a solo change in the 2015 model release, which included 6 refreshed colors instead of 8, just like it did with the iPod Shuffle 4th generation.

Is the iPod Nano 7th generation still worth it in 2016? Let’s see how it compares with the competition.

Design and Build Quality

The official release of iPod Nano 7th generation came with 8 colors Space Gray, Slate, Blue, Green, Pink, Purple, Silver and Yellow.
But for the 2015 edition Apple went with the best selling colors and added this dark tone to them Space Gray, Blue, Pink, Red, Silver and Gold.

This Bluetooth MP3 player comes with 16GB built-in storage. In simpler terms you can store up to 4000 songs. It has a smooth aluminum layer covering pretty much the whole MP3 player and it has a 2.5 inch very responsive multi touch screen.
It’s a compact, lightweight and small Bluetooth MP3 player targeted pretty much towards sport fans.

The control buttons are similar to an iPhone 5, in the face of the device we have the home button and the volume controls are on the left side, the play/pause button is in the middle between volume up and down, which has more functions. For example double click will advance the song.

At the bottom we have the headphone jack port on the left, a lightening connector at the right and in between there is a Bluetooth antenna. At the top we have the power on/off, sleep/wake button.

Functions and Performance

When you turn on the iPod Nano for the first time you will see a screen where you can set up your language, after that you will notice the 8 installed apps; Music, Video, Fitness, Podcasts, Photos, Radio, Clock and Settings.
You can’t remove them or add additional, the only additional app will be added is the audiobooks app, which will be added after the first time you sync your device to a computer.

While you can’t add apps, you can still change the order of the apps you have, by tapping and holding a particular app till you see it nudging, then place it where convenient, when done, press the home button and release it.

The performance of iPod Nano 7th generation is very intuitive, smooth and fast, thanks to the clean and friendly user interface.

FM Radio

Once your headphones are plugged you can use the built-in FM radio. The headphones work as an antenna as well.
The reception is excellent and the interface is very simple with big numbers. You can save unlimited FM stations as presets, by tapping the star next to the FM frequency.

Nike+ Fitness

iPod Nano 7th Generation Bluetooth MP3 player comes with a fitness app called Nike+ which works with the pedometer built-in, so you can easily track your steps while walking or running, calculate time and distance, Additionally, it shows approximate calories burnt during your workout.

Case + ClipTranseca iPod Nano 7th Generation Clip Case

Since iPod Nano is famously spread, many 3rd party companies made different style cases, to protect it and be useful at the same time, the most useful one I found is made by Transeca: it comes in 6 different colors (Black, Crystal Clear, Rosy Pink, Sea Green, Mystic Purple and Gold. They range just under $15, click here to see their current price.

Syncing Music to the iPod Nano

If you’re familiar with Apple products; iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad, you know that you can’t drag and drop files directly to an iPod to work. The recommended option to sync your music, podcasts, photos, videos, and audiobooks is through the iTunes app which is available for Windows users and Mac for free

Bluetooth

To pair with a Bluetooth device, make sure to enable Bluetooth on your headphone, speaker or car audio system, then go to your Bluetooth MP3 player under settings, tap Bluetooth, turn it on, tap on your device name (for example your JayBird X2 Bluetooth Earbuds), and you’re connected!

Battery

The iPod Nano 7th generation can deliver up to 30 hours of music playback, and 3.5 hours of video, surely it’s not made for playing videos, but holding that much of battery even while in sleep mode is great.

Using a wall charger will charge the device faster than a PC. Normally it takes between 2-3 hours but, Apple hasn’t provided a wall charger with this Bluetooth MP3 player, so the price won’t add up. I personally use my iPhone’s wall charger and  the iPod charges like a champ.

Overall, if the price is not an issue, the iPod Nano 7th generation is the best MP3 Player with Bluetooth we can think of. It’s light, stylish, compact, user friendly and definitely has out and out Apple quality.

  • 2.5 inch LCD multi touch display
  • Aluminum body (Durable)
  • 6 refreshed colors with the 2015 edition

#4 AGPtEK ROCKER Review

AGPtEK ROCKER - Bluetooth MP3 PlayerThe AGPtEK ROCKER is a solid Bluetooth MP3 Player that can play lossless audio tracks; it’s a Hi-Fi entry level music player; that supports MicroSD cards up to 256GB.

Design and Build Quality

AGPtEK ROCKER has a metal casing unified body; it’s well built, feels solid in hands, it has a simple design, and the buttons provide a good tactile response.

Functions and Performance

The UI of the ROCKER is very basic yet adequately responsive; the screen resolution is somehow low quality, personally I don’t mind; because it will come at the expense of the battery, but many users would prefer the sharper/brighter screen display on the expense of battery.

The original firmware that came with the player: when the screen is off you had the option to press up/down arrow buttons and to scroll, but with the new firmware release (5th/April/2017) you cannot operate these functions while the screen is off.

So far AGPtEK have released 3 firmware updates for the ROCKER, so the performance of the player will constantly improve.

You can search for a specific song/artist/genre/album alphabetically by holding the right button in the music list interface.

It supports playlist files such as .M3U and M3U8 created by your management software such a Media Go. Also, it supports album Artwork which is a big plus especially to those who purchase songs.

Sound Quality

AGPtEK equipped the ROCKER with CS42L51 decoder DAC chip produced by Cirrus; it is a low power audio codec that delivers excellent audio performance while maximizing battery life and minimizing end-product form factor, which will translate in optimizing power consumption with a great listening experience.

Gapless Playback

AGPtEK ROCKER Bluetooth MP3 player supports playback, seamlessly transitions from one song to another: which is great for listening to live albums, classical works, or anything that sounds best when it is played continuously.

To turn the Gapless playback functionality: Go to Setting; choose ON.

Shuffle and Playlists Support under Bluetooth

One of the best functionalities that distinguish AGPtEK ROCKER is: the support of shuffle under Bluetooth, as well as supporting up to 50 Playlists (it is PROVEN TO WORK with playlists created by Windows Media Player and Media Go).

Also, it supports all major lossless audio formats: AAC, AIF (Apple lossless) APE, FLAC, OGG, WAVE, WMA Lossless, M4A, MP3 and WMA, at up to 192kHz/32bit.

Bluetooth

AGPtEK ROCKER is equipped with Bluetooth 4.0 CSR; the basic playback audio quality is quite reliable, stable, smooth and clean most of the time. It works with older devices, but, it works best with devices that have Bluetooth 4.0.

Battery

AGPtEK ROCKER is equipped with 600mAh integrated lithium battery; once it’s fully charged it will deliver up to 10 hours of continuous playing at medium volume, and 7 hours when paired with a Bluetooth headphones or speakers.

#5 SanDisk clip sport plus Review

SanDisk Clip Sport Plus Bluetooth MP3 PlayerThe SanDisk Clip Sport Plus is the newest release MP3 player from SanDisk and the first of the kind to have Bluetooth capability.

It is slightly larger than the original (Non-Bluetooth), but with no Micro SD card option to expand the memory, it has 16GB of internal storage, it can hold up to 4000 songs, I doubt you’d need any extra memory.

The Clip Sport Plus with Bluetooth supports MP3, WMA (no DRM), AAC (DRM free iTunes), WAV, FLAC and Audible (DRM only).

To add tracks to the player you can drag and drop, or copy and paste it into the device. Also, you should know that the player does NOT have bookmark feature, but, it can memorize where it left off, whether you paused a song in music folder or an Audiobook, in audiobooks folder.

Best Bluetooth MP3 Player for Running/ Sports!

The original non-Bluetooth Clip sport is already one of the best MP3 players for running. Now, The Clip Sport Plus will carry on as one of the many Bluetooth MP3 players that are made for sport.

It comes with a squared 1.44” TFT (128×128 pixels) LCD display which is easy to read even in the lowest brightness settings, it is lightweight, well made,  and clips to your clothes or gear for a worry-free workout.

How to Lock SanDisk Clip Sport Plus

While reading some reviews on Amazon, I have seen that a lot of people complain that there is NO LOCK feature! Little they did know, the back button have double functionalities:

While you’re on playing mode, press and hold the back button for a few seconds and it will lock the player, prevent you from accidentally changing the track… etc, and to unlock it press and hold the same button.

SanDisk Clip Sport Plus Bluetooth

Sometimes when you connect the MP3 to your Bluetooth headphones or speaker, it will get choppy, I have found that disconnecting the paired device and reconnecting it solves this issue immediately, other than that, the Bluetooth experience is well appreciated for the price you’re paying.

Water resistant

First, let’s make it clear, the SanDisk Clip Sport Plus is water resistant and not waterproof, therefore, it’s not recommended for use underwater, if you’re looking for a waterproof MP3 player, then, this device is not for you.

The SanDisk Clip Sport plus utilizes the IPX5 protection, both the headphone jack and USB ports have a seal plug to protect the player from water jets at any direction, in other words it is meant to withstand rain and sweat.

FM Tuner with RDS

The built-in FM Radio functionality requires wired headphone, therefore, you cannot use it while you’re connected to Bluetooth headphones.

The Player support RDS which allows the station name to be displayed along with information about the broadcast, time and maybe telephone number, it’s a feature most Radio stations are implementing nowadays.

Battery

The SanDisk Clip Sport provides up to 20 hours of continuous playback with wired earphones, and up to 7 hours using Bluetooth.

Features and Specifications

  • 16GB of internal storage
  • 1.4” TFT LCD
  • Built-in FM Radio
  • Water resistant
  • 20 hours/ +7 hours when using Bluetooth
  • Lightweight
  • Competitive Price

#6 AGPtEK A50 Review

AGPtEK A50 Bluetooth MP3 Player ReviewAGPtEK A50 Bluetooth MP3 player came to exist on the markets as of June 2017; it’s a combination between the G05 and A26, it’s more stable and more efficient especially after you upgrade the firmware which was released last August.

Design and Build Quality

The AGPtEK A50 has a 1.5” TFT display which is easy to read; it has a classic clock as a screensaver, it has independent controls: up and down buttons to scroll through different playlists, play/pause button in the middle, next/forward and previous/rewind buttons in front, the volume rockers by the side next to the Micro SD card slot and the on/off button at the top next to the 3.5 mm headphone jack.

In general, the placement of buttons and the build quality seems to be good and sturdy; most users seem to like it and they gave it a general rate of 3.9 out of 5 at the time of this review.

Functions and Performance

The player comes with 8GB of internal storage and the option to upgrade the memory up to 64GB through the Micro SD card slot, it can hold a maximum of 4000 songs which is quite enough for most people.

The A50 MP3 player comes with a nicely designed clip on the back; which makes it a good music player for running and working out, it supports MP3, WMA, APE, WAV and FLAC. The sound is superb in its clarity and musicality especially when paired with some nice quality headphones.

When you turn on the player you will see different functions: Music playing, Recording, FM Radio, Folder Viewer, Setting, Music Playing via Bluetooth and Pedometer.

Like mentioned before the sound quality and the lossless experience is really good, users can adjust the sound using any of the different modes in the Equalizer settings: Rock, Funk, Hip-Hop, Jazz, Classic, Electronic or Customized.

Bluetooth Connectivity

When you pair the A50 to your Bluetooth devices you will like the stable connection and the good transmitted sound, only know that you have no control of the playlist while on Bluetooth mode, but you can still use the FM Radio; you just have to put a headphone plug in the headphone jack to get the FM radio to work.

Sports MP3 Player

Whether you like to clip your MP3 player to your armband strap, collar or your shorts, the AGPtEK A50 comes with a jagged clip so it will stay in place to avoid falling off during exercise, the player is also geared with a pedometer to keep a record of your steps and burnt calories, even though it will not be as accurate as a Fitbit Charge 2, but it’s good to be there.

Battery

AGPtEK A50 takes 1.5 hours  to fully charge by a “5V, 0.5-1A” output and the battery will last anytime between 20-25 hours of continuous playback with wired earphones, and up to 8 hours while paired with Bluetooth devices.

#7 AGPtEK C05 Review

AGPtEK C05 - MP3 Player With BluetoothAGPtEK C05 8GB Bluetooth MP3 player was released in January of 2016, it’s the follow up model to A06 and A06S, but with different and cute design. Together, let’s discover the limits along with its pros and cons.

Design and Build Quality

In their series of MP3 players with Bluetooth, AGPtEK made C05 model with kind of rubbery plastic, it’s thin, small and lightweight (0.88Oz – 25g).

The design of AGPtEK C05 is simple and clean, it might not look very expensive, but, I prefer its design over A06 away better.

It comes in Black with Blue line circling both screen display and control buttons. It has 8GB of internal storage, which means it can hold about 2000 songs averaging 3 minutes long, with the ability to expand the memory up to 64GB using the Micro SD card option, but it’s limited to 4000 songs even if the player can hold more.

All the control buttons on this player are frontal and user friendly with a noticeable click when you press them. It has Menu, Play/Pause, Next/Forward, Previous/Rewind. The Volume up and Volume down buttons are independent, as for the On/Off functionality, it is shared with Play/Pause button, to turn on or off the device, you need to press and hold the Play/Pause button for about 3 seconds.

When scrolling up or down, fingers automatically tend to click volume up or down, because the placement of the buttons are up and down, this is quite confusing at first, but, you’ll get used to it with time.

The Micro SD card slot is located on the left side of the device. I have to mention that some Micro SD card brands are not compatible with this Bluetooth MP3 player, therefore, it is recommended to use either AGPtEK or Kingston’s Micro SD cards.

Functions and Performance

The UI of AGPtEK C05 is plain, simple, clean and flows pretty naturally. It has a built-in FM Radio that has very good reception, just keep in mind that the earphones are the antenna.

The stand alone voice recording found on the menu, can record ambient conversations very well. Also, this unit has a time off feature in settings, in addition to that, there is an option to record audio tracks played by the Radio.

The sound quality is very good, especially if one uses lossless files, by the way this model has NO earphones included in the box.

Shuffle

To enter the shuffle mode, once you are on main playing interface, long press the button and then a related list will show, select “Shuffle” under the choice “Play mode” and you will be set. I have noticed that Shuffle feature works only with songs in the same folder.

Bluetooth

To pair AGPtEK C05, you’ll have to enter pairing mode on your Bluetooth headphones or speaker first, then search for it on your Bluetooth MP3 Player, and then connect Bluetooth.

While you are under Bluetooth mode, playlists are not supported, also the rewind/forward function. Clearly, it’s not the best Bluetooth MP3 player, but for a device that ranges between $25 – $40 it’s a nice deal.

Transfer MP3/ AMV (Audio + Video) to the Portable Media Player

It doesn’t require a special program to download music to the device, you simply connect it to a computer via the USB cable and transfer the desired audio, or video files, by dragging and dropping, or by copying and pasting.

However, you might need a program to convert your videos to AMV or AVI, because AGPtEK C05 can’t handle other video formats.

Battery

AGPtEK C05 has 180mAh rechargeable battery, it takes 2.5 hours to fully charge and will allow up to 12 hours of playback, however, this playback timing will be less when connected with Bluetooth devices.

If you are on a budget and you’re looking for an MP3 player with Bluetooth that has most features one needs in digital audio player, then you should consider AGPtEK C05. However, if you’re seeking something with longer battery life or playlist support while on Bluetooth, then this digital player is not for you.

#8 HONGYU R06 Review

Ruizu X06 - Best MP3 Players With BluetoothThe HONGYU R06 Bluetooth MP3 player is one of the good for money MP3 players, it costs a little and offers a lot of useful features .

Design and Build Quality

The HONGYU R06 Bluetooth MP3 player has a simple all rounded rubberized plastic body, with 1.8 inch display, it weighs about 1.4 ounces about 40 grams, it comes in black with a Blue, Green or Red stripes as secondary color placed by the sides of the Bluetooth MP3 player, menu button and at the top, and it has a small rope hole at the top like the GoGEAR Azure.

All the control buttons are frontal and have a clickable sound, on the right side there is the on/off button and on the left side there is a Micro SD card slot for up to 32GB, and at the bottom there is a Micro USB port used in charging and syncing files, and a 3.5 mm headphone jack port.

The whole design seems a bit cheap, but still, it is durable and one can enjoy it for a couple of years.

Functions and Performance

The menu icons are identical to AGPtEK A06: Music, Video, Recordings, Pictures, FM Radio, Bluetooth… etc.

The general UI is friendly and easy to adapt to, though the screen resolution is not quite sharp or clear as the iPod Nano or the GoGEAR Azure.

The down side about this Bluetooth MP3 player is the manual, all the instructions are in Chinese, and therefore it’s hard to take advantage of all the features if you’re not familiar with MP3 players, so, I found that AGPtEK A06 has the same manual guide HONGYU R06 have, but this time in English, you can download the English manual guide for AGPtEK A06 here.

The included ear buds are good for general use, if you’re going to use your Bluetooth headphones that should not be a problem, but if you like to use a wired headphone, it’s better to have something like Panasonic RP-HJE125K earbuds take more advantage of your MP3 player.

Bluetooth

This MP3 player supports devices with Bluetooth 3.0 and above, and the Bluetooth sounds only as good as the headphones you’re using, but I have to mention that while listening to music wirelessly the HONGYU R06 won’t be able to support OGG or AAC files, so don’t expect a crystal clear sound.

Once you connect a Bluetooth headphone, each time after that HONGYU R06 Bluetooth MP3 player will list it as part of the available choices, you select it and you’ll be ready to go, but if you’re listening to the FM radio via Bluetooth, you’ll have to plug your headphones so they can be used as an antenna, even if you’re not using them, then you’ll have to connect it to your Bluetooth headset manually.

Battery

The battery of the HONGYU R06 is very similar to AGPtEK A06, it will take between 3-4 hours to fully charge, and once charged it can deliver up to 50 hours of audio playback,

In general, the HONGYU R06 is an okay MP3 player, for its affordable price and the long battery life, in addition to the Bluetooth capability, it deserves a spot on our list.

Features and Specifications

  • 1.8″ TFT display
  • Bluetooth 4.0
  • Lossless sound
  • 4GB internal memory
  • SD card memory slot up to 32GB
  • 50 hours of playback
  • Great value for the money

CONS

  • The manual guide is in Chinese
  • The screen has a low quality resolution

IN THE BOX

  • HONGYU R06 Bluetooth MP3 player
  • Ear buds
  • USB cable

#9 Philips GoGEAR Azure Review

Philips GoGEAR Ariaz - Best MP3 Players With BluetoothPhilips made several GoGEAR Bluetooth MP3/ MP4 players, some of them are good, some not that good.
We picked the best MP3 player with Bluetooth from the GoGEAR collection to review, and it’s the Philips GoGEAR Azure SA5AZU08KF model.

Design and Build Quality

The Philips GoGEAR Azure has a sleek rubberized plastic finish body with a small rope hole in the upper back for more portability. It feels nice in the hands, though it tends to get slippery at times, and has a 2.4 inch clear and bright display.

The control buttons on this MP3 player are intuitive with a soft click, all the buttons are located on the face of the device, play/pause, next/ forward, previous/ rewind, up and down, and just a little bit above those buttons, there is a back button on the left and a Bluetooth button, to enable or disable Bluetooth, with the volume up and down on the left.

At the top we have the power on/off button, next to it is a lock button, and at the bottom we have from right to left; the microphone, 3.5mm audio port jack, mini USB port used for charging and syncing the MP3 player, and next to it the reset button. In case the MP3 player lags or something, you can just press it with a needle for about 3-5 seconds and it will reset.

Functions and Performance

The user interface of the Philips GoGEAR Azure is really smooth and easy to navigate.
When you turn on your MP3 player, you will see the following icons: Battery indicator, Music, Video Gallery, FM Radio, Picture Gallery, Folder, Extras (it has features like voice recording, read text, and audiobooks), Sound (for adding sound effects), Bluetooth (where you can pair Bluetooth devices) and Settings.

Philips partnered with Audible and 7digital, to allow users to benefit from Audiobooks support and high quality audio sound; it supports MP3, WAV, WMA, FLAC and APE

Some early versions of Philips GoGEAR Azure would turn off after 10 minutes of use, which leaves the buyer confused, only to find out that those sold versions came with the auto sleep mode turned on, so, when you use your Bluetooth MP3 player for the first time, make sure to go to the settings and check if the auto sleep mode is turned off.

Using the GoGEAR Azure is really nice experience, and to take advantage of it, download this user manual to help you understand every angle and tweak of the device.

SafeSound/ FullSoundFullSound - MP3PlayerAdvisor.com

The SafeSound technology analyzes the sound level of your GoGEAR Bluetooth MP3 player and alerts you if the volume and exposure could have an impact on your long term hearing.

The FullSound technology makes listening to music more fun and appreciative, because it enhances the sound quality of your MP3 music and makes it richer, clearer so that you can feel the vivid experience, by improving the dynamics jointly in low and high frequencies, producing much more involving and true to life sound characteristics.

To learn more about the FullSound feature, read this PDF made by Philips.

FM Radio

With this Bluetooth MP3 player comes an FM radio built-in which supports RDS and presets for up to 30 stations, and also there is the FM recording feature that allows you to record what is played on the FM Radio, and save it for later listening.

Bluetooth

The Philips GoGEAR Azure SA5AZU08KF Bluetooth MP3 player is one of the best MP3 players with Bluetooth, you can wirelessly connect your MP3 player with a wide range of Bluetooth devices, such as speakers, headphones and car audio system.

Battery

The Philips GoGEAR Azure Bluetooth MP3 player has a rechargeable battery, it delivers up to 36 hours music playback, 6 hours video playback, 16 hours on Radio, and an impressive 12 hours Bluetooth playback.

#10 Sony NWZ WS613BLK Review

Sony NWZ WS613BLK - Best MP3 Players With BluetoothAfter the success of Sony NWZ W273, Sony decided to tweak it and add a couple of useful features, such as Bluetooth/ NFC and a ring type remote control for more portability and ease of use.

Sony NWZ WS613BLK Bluetooth MP3 player is made for sport guys, many men and women like to wear them while running and working out.

Design and Build Quality

This series of MP3 player with Bluetooth comes in Black, Blue, Yellow and White, and the ring type remote control color matches the MP3 color.

It’s like the usual headphone that goes from the back of the head, it has 4GB of internal storage, so you can store a decent amount of songs, and it has Bluetooth capability to connect it to your phone or other Bluetooth devices.

On the left ear bud there is a Walkman and NFC logos, a Bluetooth pairing button with a blue light indicator, the volume rockers, and a shuffle mode button.
On the right ear bud there is the on/ off button with a green/ orange light indicator depending on your battery status, the play/ pause button which works as an answer button when you receive a phone call, next/ previous, a reset button, and the charging pins.

The overall design is neat and outstanding and looks premium, from the replaceable Earbuds, plastic headset, to the USB dock, but it could’ve been much better if they included a lock button, so that you can’t accidentally hit any button.

Functions and Performance

The Sony NWZ WS613BLK Bluetooth MP3 player fits securely and tightly over the head, it has an adjustable rubber band to tighten it up, so that when you are working out they won’t be dangling or become a source of distraction.

It comes with 3 different size Earbuds: small, medium and large whicht fits perfectly in the ear, and the sound is very good and clear, you can custom the bass, tweak the EQ and turn on features like; Clear Phase, Dynamic Normalizer and Sound Mix, by using the SongPal app

Also, it comes with 3 additional swimming Earbuds in case you’d like to use it while swimming, though the sound in water tends to be a little weak, and you’ll have to raise the volume to balance it.

The NWZ WS613BLK model has a female voice speaks the automated information voices and beeps, which can be loud.

To pair this Bluetooth MP3 player with your phone click the pairing mode button in the MP3, and go to your phone’s Bluetooth setting and you’ll find it under NWZ WS613BLK then connect it.

When you connect the Sony NWZ WS613BLK to a PC by using the provided USB dock, you can sync your music by dragging the songs and dropping them to the MP3 player.

Ring Type Remote Control

With this Bluetooth MP3 player comes a small ring type remote control, which you can adjust to fit your finger, it’s very light and fits nicely, it has all the necessary control buttons; play/ pause, which is also an answer button when you receive a phone call, volume up/ down, and skipping tracks buttons.

Since the actual control buttons are located in the ear buds of the MP3 player, it can be challenging to navigate the MP3 player, especially if you’re working out, so, including a ring type remote control makes a perfect sense.

SongPal

Sony made SongPal app to help you navigate and control music from your phone or tablet, for both Android users and IOS, you can download it for free in the Play Store and App Store.

After connecting your Bluetooth MP3 player you can stream music from your phone, whether it’s in your music library, Spotify, Apple Music, or Pandora… etc.

Battery

A full charge of this Bluetooth MP3 player can deliver up to 8 hours of playback when used as an MP3 player, and 4 hours of playback when used as a Bluetooth headset, also, it includes a quick charge feature, Sony claims that 3 minutes of charge will allow up to 60 minutes of playback, however, the Bluetooth MP3 player itself takes between 1.5 – 2 hours to fully charge.

All in all, if you’re looking for a Bluetooth MP3 player that fits securely and tightly behind the head and has an MP3 player built-in, to use for the gym or while taking laps in the swimming pool, Sony NWZ WS613BLK is a great option.

#11 AGPtEK A06 Review

AGPTeK A06S - Best MP3 Players With BluetoothThe AGPtEK A06 Bluetooth MP3 player is one of the most famous MP3 players made by AGPtEK. What made it famous and trustworthy is the long battery life and Bluetooth capability.

Design and Build Quality

AGPTEK A06 Bluetooth MP3 player is made of plastic and has a rounded edges and has a rope hole at the top, it comes in 3 different colors: black with green, black with blue and black with red.

It comes with an internal storage of 8 or 16GB, with the ability to expand the memory up to 32GB by using the Micro SD slot.

This device is small compared to Bluetooth MP3 players like Cowon, or iPod touch, though we can’t compare the quality of AGPtEK to those famous names.

This Bluetooth MP3 player has a frontal clickable buttons, they are intuitive, I wish they had included a dedicated volume control, but you can press the Vol button, then use the arrows << and >> to adjust it to the level desired.

It has a mini USB port to sync audio and visual files and also to charge the MP3 player.

As for the overall build quality, it seems to handle everyday use, but since it’s made of plastic, it’s kind of fragile, it doesn’t mean it will fall to pieces when you hold it, but just to use it with care, so it can last you longer.

Functions and Performance

Once the AGPTEK A06 Bluetooth MP3 player is on, you can navigate through 11 different functions: Music (MP3, WAV, APE, WMA, FLAC, OGG and AAC), Video (AMV), Recordings (WAV), Pictures (JPG, JPEG and BMP), FM Radio (Listening and Recording), E-Book (TXT), Folder, Tools, Setting, Bluetooth and Now Playing.

The user interface is fast and easy to adapt to, just bare in mind if you load too much files (more than 1000) it will become a bit slower which will result in a several seconds of delay.

The good thing about none iPod MP3 players is that they don’t require software like iTunes to sync music into, and AGPtEK is one of them.

The sound of this Bluetooth MP3 player is very loud, rich in bass and clear, especially if combined with good quality headphones, because the earphone that came in the box are for regular use only.

As for Bluetooth connection, it does a good job and it auto connects to the last paired device, though sometimes you have to pair a device more than once to be paired, this happens usually with first time paired devices.

Audiobooks

The AGPtEK A06 Bluetooth MP3 player supports audiobooks, and it has the ability to bookmark each book up to 10 times.

Battery

While a full charge takes between 3 to 4 hours, 10 minute charge will allow up to 1 hour of playback and 2 hours will charge the device about 80%, however, AGPtEK claims that the battery can deliver up to 50 hours of playback when fully charged, but if you’re listening to the FM Radio it will deliver only 10 hours.

Overall, if you favor staying on budget and still want to enjoy an MP3 player with Bluetooth capability, FM radio and the option to expand memory, AGPtEK A06 will cover your basic needs at very competitive price.

Features and Specifications

  • Bluetooth 4.0
  • FM radio
  • Lossless sound
  • 16GB internal memory
  • SD card memory slot up to 32GB
  • Long Battery life (50 hours of playback)
  • A lot of features
  • Competitive price

CONS

  • The build quality is a bit fragile
  • The screen has a low quality resolution

IN THE BOX

  • AGPtEK A06 Bluetooth MP3 player
  • Ear buds
  • USB cable
  • Manual guide

#12 ONN W6 Review

ONN W6 - Best MP3 Players With BluetoothIf you’re looking for a budget Bluetooth MP3 player to use while working out or running, ONN W6 MP3 player has a long battery life and can stream very clear audio through Bluetooth connection.

Design and Build Quality

ONN W6 Bluetooth MP3 player is made in China and it’s sold worldwide, it’s made of plastic with aluminum alloy shell, it’s quite taller than average MP3 players, but it’s thin, it feels good in hand.

It comes in 4 different colors: Navy Blue, Light Blue, Pink and Silver, the control buttons are very similar to AGPtEK A06, but more plane and they have a quite noticeable sound when you click them, and some buttons like the “Vol button” works as a back button.

This MP3 player doesn’t have a dedicated on/off button like the AGPtEK A06, to turn on the device you’ll have to press and hold the play/pause button for about 3-5 seconds.

The ONN W6 portable media player comes with 8GB of internal storage with the ability to expand it up to 32GB using the Micro SD slot; I have to mention though, that it doesn’t have a seal to protect the SD card from falling.

It has a mini USB port to sync music and charge the device, and also it comes with a Microphone Built-in and a 3.5 mm headphone port.

Functions and Performance

When ONN W6 Bluetooth media player is on, you’ll have 11 functions on the main menu: Music, Video, Radio, Photo, Text, Record, Bluetooth, Games, Settings, Explorer, and Time

The performance of the ONN W6 Bluetooth MP3 player is good, but the UI is not quite friendly to navigate, especially through sub-folders, you’ll probably take some time to master it, the good thing is that the screen text is very informative.

So, to learn how to operate this MP3 player and take advantage of its features, you’ll have to read the user manual included in the box, though it’s not professionally translated from Chinese either, but still useful.

Talking about drawbacks, I have to mention that some users when they connect the ONN W6 to a computer, the language will revert to Chinese, I never faced that problem, neither have we know what caused it, but one can eliminate this problem by loading music to the SD card via memory card adapter.

The good things that make this MP3 player stand out are: the Bluetooth capability, the good sound of music, and the 8GB of internal storage, in addition to recognizing sub-folders, and the ability to play in order, repeat, shuffle and only memory, and not to forget the included headphones, they look like a good quality.

Battery

The Battery life of the ONN W6 is really amazing, ONN claims that it can deliver up to 60 hours on full charge, but it will deliver about half that when used with Bluetooth devices.

It takes about 3-4 hours to fully charge, and 2 hours should charge it about 80%.

All in all, though it’s not that easy to navigate for new owners, having a Bluetooth capability and large internal memory, makes ONN W6 Bluetooth MP3 player a great option for people who loves deals.

Features and Specifications

  • 1.8 inch TFT LED screen
  • Aluminum alloy shell
  • 8GB of internal storage
  • Expandable storage up to 32GB
  • FM radio with up to 30 presets
  • Shuffle mode
  • Great value for the money

CONS

  • No seal for the SD card
  • Sometimes it reverts to Chinese when connected to a PC.

IN THE BOX

  • ONN W6 professional Bluetooth MP3 player
  • Earphone
  • Mini USB cable
  • User manual

    How can you compare:
    – Sony for runners and swimmers (no wires, no need to carry device in hand, pocket or backpack, waterproof) to
    – iPod Nano (headphone with wire or need to buy wireless headphones /additional cost/, you need to carry device, no waterproof ) and
    write that iPod is better?

Well, first thing comparing Sony NWZ WS613 with iPod Nano 7th Gen in every angle is not quite fair, as you said Sony’s Bluetooth MP3 player is wire free and is already mounted in the head, so, it needs no additional headphones, neither extra cost for waterproofing.
In the other hand if we picked iPod Nano, we’ll end up with a Bluetooth MP3 player with wires, without waterproofing neither easy mounting.
I have made iPod Nano 7th Gen the winner, because of its potential, it has Bluetooth, So I can pair it with any Bluetooth headphones I have, and it has 16GB of internal storage, and triple the battery Sony has

      Hi Jay
Yes, the Sony NWZ WS613BLK can be used without the remote control type ring: it has all the control buttons on the device itself.
It’s just the ring remote control is more easy to use, especially when you’re on the move.

The reviews don’t mention most of the important aspects of MP3 players for listening to audiobooks. Do the files play in order? Does it remember your spot? Does it play at variable speeds? Does it play the most common audiobook formats?

      Dear Rich,
All the mentioned MP3 players have a shuffle mode, repeat single, loop… etc, if you’re looking for an MP3 player that is suitable for audiobooks, I would recommend you to read our review about AGPtEK B03, it’s the best minimal, or in other words the best budget MP3 player, it has the option to bookmark up to 10 times a single audio, and it remembers where it left off, whether it’s a song or an audiobook.

Do you know if there’s an MP3 player that has bluetooth and also wi-fi? Preferably with lots of storage too? That would be great for feeding my Sonos system. Obviously my phone can do it but Im thinking of a dedicated music player.

I am a coach for a jump rope team and I’m looking for an MP3 player that supports playlists while connected to speaker system via Bluetooth . I’m not a fan of apple as we have had numerous issues with syncing with devices to get our music on the device (have two ipads, that won’t sync with our computers, one pc, one mac). Do you have any suggestions? I see that some state playlists are not supported via Bluetooth on some of the reviews above, but not on every one. Thanks!

It comes with Bluetooth 4.0 CSR and it supports playlists playback and shuffle under Bluetooth.

I currently have everything on USB drives that plug into a Sony system. I don’t like hauling around a bunch of CUds. The newer vehicle does not have a USB input with the radio/CD unit. Any recommendation? PPUsH am not an Apple guy.
